Engineered Intelligence
Artificial intelligence shaped around a defined task, with clear oversight and evaluation.
Oxwyn is evolving. Our new website is coming soon.
Oxwyn researches and develops intelligence systems, purpose-built applications and computing architectures for demanding environments. Operator control, human authority and evidence guide our work.
Research and engineering
From the intelligence at the core to the applications people use and the computing systems that support them.
Artificial intelligence shaped around a defined task, with clear oversight and evaluation.
Focused applications for operators and teams, shaped by their workflows, data and operating environment.
Research into dependable computing foundations that support our applications across demanding operating environments.
Introducing Oxwyn Space
Intelligence for humanity’s next frontier.
Dependable control, assurance and evidence for space systems.
Our research explores resilient intelligence systems and mission applications for satellites, orbital computing and ground operations, with security and human oversight at their centre.
The method
Our work starts with the people who will use it and the rules they work under. Six phases guide a requirement from the first question through development, evaluation and a plan for operational use.
PHASE 01
What decision must be made, by whom, under what pressure, and what failure would cost.
PHASE 02
How the user actually operates: authority, chain of command and procedures.
PHASE 03
The operating environment, the threats faced and the time available.
PHASE 04
Intelligence, analysis and design: architecture, security boundaries and the human role.
PHASE 05
Purpose-built applications and intelligence systems, developed for the task and agreed operating environment.
PHASE 06
Evaluation, assurance evidence and a support plan appropriate to the intended use.
Engineering principles
PRINCIPLE 01
Deployment and data handling are designed around the operator’s permissions and operating environment.
PRINCIPLE 02
People set the permissions and remain accountable for consequential actions, including where approved automation is used.
PRINCIPLE 03
We design records that help authorised reviewers understand what happened, which decisions were made and the evidence available.
PRINCIPLE 04
Testing is planned around the intended use, including failure, uncertainty and rare but consequential events.
Research and collaboration
We welcome conversations with operators, researchers, manufacturers and integration partners across our areas of focus. Bring an operational challenge, a research question or an opportunity to collaborate.
